Final thoughts on “The Walking Dead” Final Season.

Posted in The Walking Dead with tags , , on March 11, 2023 by mgpogue

The Last episode of Walking Dead was November 20th 2022, and it has taken me sometime to process what I think about how they wrapped up 11 seasons. I stopped watching the show after Episode 16 season 8 called Wrath. I was upset when Rick decided to save Negan. This killed it for me, but my friends were still talking about the series and I picked up news from Facebook and other Social media sources. So when the said that season 11 was going to be the last I started watching the whole series from the beginning season one. I caught about the same time when Season 11 started.

From season 8 a lot happened and I was kind of sorry I gave up on the show, but to bring it to a conclusion with the Commonwealth was a bit too much for me. Of all the story lines I really felt they destroyed the group I had watched and learned to love. I did not feel that the group had that family feel to it anymore. But the way they reformed Negan was brilliant I thought. He really went through a change. I felt bad for this man. When I seen him with Glenn and Maggie’s kid Hershel, and he told him he killed his father, that was tense. I kept on wondering if Negan and Maggie was going to kill each other? But no they are going to have a show together and I can not wait to watch. I just can’t imagine them working together again after season 11. But trailers for the show look real good.

I thought they could have focused on the group surviving like they did before and fight to get to a left over government refuge, not bringing down a rogue refuge government system. However I did enjoy the battle seances of it coming down, it’s just that the Commonwealth made me forget that I was watching the Walking Dead. It was a very strong story and yes it was well written, but I was disappointed it took away what made the show so great. I was wanting them to honor everything the group had lost, I did not get that feeling. but the final episode brought it all home for me. The goodbyes gave me a few teary eyed moments. When Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier said their good byes, That was huge for me and I was really happy that Ezekiel returned to be a community leader I was really happy with that. So I guess in the end all went well

The Addiction Of Call of Duty Deathmatch

Posted in Call of Duty, x-box with tags , , on February 18, 2023 by mgpogue

I have played many of the Call of Duty Games on X-Box Video Game system, but I get stuck on Death Match free for all. and I play and play and play. You would think that someone playing that much would have a high Kill/death ratio. Nope, I pretty much suck. I do get victories, but very few 1st place. I usual get 2nd or 3rd. I find that I really miss out on all the other games that Call of Duty offer because I can’t stop playing Deathmatch.

What is it with Deathmatch that is so addicting that I can’t stop playing? I do work a full time job and don’t get to play as much as I would like, and every Call of Duty game that comes out I lie to myself and say I not buying no more of COD, but I do.

I also have Game Pass, but do I play anything else? I have a Oculus VR system, for a year I have played very little because I am playing COD Death Match. What is my problem? I don’t think there is anything called video game counseling.

The problem is I have been very busy, and just try to sneak a few games here and there and then go about my business. I am 60 years old but I refuse to grow up. I have that old age mentality of going to bed by 9:00pm. COD Deathmatch is quick to get into and quick to get out. If I play at the right time it’s very possible I can take first place in a few matches, but not many.

Some of you may ask why do I even have a Game System if I can’t play it all the time? It’s when I do have the time to play it that I really have fun. Those weekends when everyone is gone for hours and I am all by myself I can plan my escape.

The question is will I still be trying to play when I turn 70. I don’t know, I am going to be a Grandfather soon and if I am still alive I may still need one for my Grandson, depending on how the video game systems change by then.

Final Thoughts on Harry & Meghan and The Royal Family

Posted in Royal Family with tags , , , , on February 4, 2023 by mgpogue

I have watched the Netflix Documentary Harry & Meghan and yesterday I finished the book Spare by Prince Harry and while the whole book was not about the separation , he had a good story. I don’t think anyone from the Royal family including Harry & Meghan will ever see this post but I do have my opinions. And some of you may say it does not matter and maybe you are right. But Harry’s book is a best seller so a bunch of people do care. For me it is a strong interest. I have always followed the Royal Family and found them very interesting. Back in the 80’s I went to Great Britain. So my interest is strong but not posters all over my house strong. And people are writing about it. So the Royal Family is somewhat relevant to a lot of people.

Both the series and the book was from Harry and Meghan’s words. Also the Oprah Winfrey interview has a part in my opinions. When I first started to follow the the press releases on what was happening I had this opinion.

Both Harry and Meghan should have know better that this was part of the deal when you marry in the Royal Family. This institution goes back hundreds of years. Did you really think they was going to change protocols standards just for you? I was mad at Harry for marrying an American! What the heck was you thinking?

But then the Oprah interview came out in December 2022. And I thought maybe the couple have a point. Then I watched the Netflix Documentary. But Prince Harry’s book open my eyes even wider. My belief from all this is this. Harry’s love for his Mother Princes Di was more passionate than his brother. His Brother was more in love with the Crown and Royal protocol than maybe even his family. I actually blame Prince William for a lot of this. The Palace was more willing to let things be than taking action. The queen was always reluctant to speak when she should speak. Prime example is when Princess Di was killed. HRM took forever making some type of former announcement even at the request of Prime Minister Tony Blair. That is just one prime example.

Harry talked extensively about his time in the military. He was always running from the paparazzi or fighting fake news. How do you have a private life if someone is always waiting around the corner to snap a picture and print lies? The Palace should have done more to protect Harry & Meghan than what they did which was nothing. I truly hope the Royal Family will be around for hundreds of more years. But they need to find a way to change and still keep a standard, but they should stand up to the press more than they do. It’s as if they are afraid of them. It has often been said that there is no love in the Royal Family but Harry and Meghan found love and they did not want to let it go.

In any situation I always remember I was not there in the Palace or with Harry and Meghan when they made decisions. I can only base my opinion on what they actually said in interview not official press releases from the palace which mean nothing. Let’s see King Charles and The Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate set down with a news crew and give their side. There are two sides to every story right? This is the only assessment anyone can give with out knowing both sides of the story and Harry and Meghan are the only two that have publicy spoken out.

Showtime limited Series George & Tammy

Posted in country music, entertainment, showtime on February 3, 2023 by mgpogue

George Jones: Micheal Shannon

Tammy Wynette: Jessica Chastain

When you think of the roots of country music and what made it great, it was the singers like Charlie Rich, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings the Carter Family, Lorreta Lynn, Wille Nelson and of course George Jones and Tammy Wynette. That was true country music. These people performed music from the soul, they poured music from personal life experiences.

When you think of personal stories that grabbed headlines back in the day, George & Tammy was in the spotlight until the day George Jones died. Fans always wanted to know if George Jones was staying sober.

While the series may have had some history mixed up, it delivered a very up close almost personal look at what was going on in the 60’s all the way in to the 90’s of this super duo. Even when they was divorced there was a bond between them. I thought both Micheal Shannon and Jessica Chastain did an Oscar Winning performance of telling the George & Tammy story. The music was awesome.

This story forged a path in to alcoholism and drug abuse, domestic violence. I was truly sad for this couple. If you believe the story there is no doubt they loved each other but could not overcome their personal demons. When I think about performers like Elvis, George and Tammy and other legends, they had fortune and fame at a price that most loyal fans could not afford. But like everyone else in the world I would like to have a shot of having a lot of money.

Harry & Meghan

I have watched the Netflix Documentary and I am in the middle of reading Prince Harry’s memoir Spare. And I have several questions and things I have observed. My question to both Harry and Meghan is how did you not know this would happen? We are talking the Royal Family. Was Harry that much of a rebel that he did not care about royal tradition? Was he upset with the family, especially his Dad over the death of his mother Princess Diana. Is it no longer possible that the Royal family can no longer hold together the long standing standards they have had for hundreds of years in this day and age.

I am not saying that the couple was wrong for leaving behind the royal family, but I do believe they should have know better and been more expecting of the rules. Generally speaking you don’t join a club or organization just to change the rules but to strengthen it. When a long standing institution that has been working for hundreds of years starts to drop standards, there is going to be problems.

As a kid I woke up early that morning to watch the wedding between then Prince Charles and Lady Diana, I have always been fascinated with the Royal family and I really hope they hold it together for generations to come. I am going to rewatch the Netflix Documentary and finish my book and give a more in-depth review of the whole story. Right now there is no way I can take sides.

MORE TO COME ON THIS SUBJECT.

I Am Coming Back and This Time I Mean It!

Posted in Uncategorized on January 14, 2023 by mgpogue

I Know I said I was coming back in 2019, but I had the dumb ideal of doing all my blogging from my Ipad. That was a really stupid idea. Don’t Get me wrong I love my Ipad, but you can not do a lot of writing on it, so four years later I bought me a MacBook Air. I have been watching a lot of TV and watching movies.

I have so much to write about, so much has happened, The Walking Dead has wrapped up, Yellowstone is in its prime. The entertainment industry is rebounding from COVID. Contrary to popular belief people are returning to the theater.

I am not going to talk about WOKE, If I don’t like a movie or show I am not going to watch it. I consider myself a conservative, but it really upsets me when you read a complaint about a show because it has a scene in a show or movie and they consider it a WOKE scene and they have to give you a detailed description of what happened to make it WOKE. My advice is if you don’t like a show or movie turn it off.

However I will advise if it’s family watchable no matter if I like the show or not.

So until next time enjoy life

Netflix and Chill May be getting Complicated, But it Does Not Have to Hurt your Wallet!

netflix

I guess netstreaming your favorite shows and movies could be getting complicated. Disney and Warner communications are both coming out with competing streaming services to compete with Streaming giant Netflix. While I agree with the  article and reasoning I have a problem with the thinking that just because their is a new service you have to subscribe to all of them at the same time. I have four services, Netflix, Amazon Prime, CBS All Access and Hulu. I am getting ready to drop Netflix for HBO to watch several shows that have their seasons completed and the last season of Game of  Thrones. After I am done with HBO I will go back to Netflix, Hulu is free through a special promotion with my cell service. It’s pick and chose to fit your wallet because you can’t watch all shows at the same time, so you don’t have to have all the Streaming services at the same time. The Article is very informative and I have no problem with it I just felt they could have explained more options

TV SHOW REVIEW: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Posted in entertainment, Netflix, Netflix Original, TV Show Review, TV shows with tags , , , , , , on October 28, 2018 by mgpogue

RELEASE DATE: October 28th2018

sabrina

CREATOR: Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa

MAIN CAST: Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis

NETFLIX Summary:

Half witch. Half mortal. On her 16th birthday, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) has to make a choice between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. With her aunties (Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis), her cat Salem, and her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch), Sabrina will face horrors and new adventures in the mysterious town of Greendale. From the executive producers of Riverdale comes a haunting new tale.

MY REVIEW:

As it has been said in other reviews, “THIS IS NOT YOUR MOTHERS SABRINA” is very true, this is more dark then the 1996 series “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. I have said in other show reviews that they have taken Satan out of the picture and evil no loner exist in pure form. That is not the case in this show. The references to Satan in this show is cringe worthy. It’s not that it is scary, but it’s like Ozzie and Harriet gone wrong. Don’t get me wrong, the show is very entertaining, but can you have good vs evil when both sides serve Satan? It’s not that it’s over scary but you get chills in other ways. It attacks your Christian conscience in ways I can not describe and it is for that reason I can in no way recommend this for family viewing. If you have any christian values I can not recommend this show for the simple reason it is impossible to fight evil and invite Satan in your life. If you watch this show, know where your faith is and where you stand.
